Sorry folks, I did weigh in yesterday but I spent a lot of time driving all over NY/NJ looking at neighborhoods and possible rentals so I didn’t get around to blogging my normal Well-Being Wednesday post. So here’s a quick update:
Weigh-in 1/23/13
Today’s Weight: 164.8
Change from 1/16/13 (166.6): -1.8
Change from 2013 re-start (166.2): -1.4
As you can see, the numbers moved in the right direction this past week. I’m trying not to let one bad meal or bad choice turn into a week or a month of bad choices. Remembering that the goal is changing my lifestyle, I’m very aware that I will not instantly start eating only raw vegetables and workout at the gym for 20 hours each week. Just not going to happen.
But, I made smarter choices overall, made a few mistakes, and have started participating in a plank challenge each day. A fellow blogger friend, Tera, over at Girl Gone Healthy, is challenging us all to a #plankaday challenge on her Facebook page. Every day, hold that plank for as long as you can, and post your time and/or a picture. I’ve done forearm planks, extended arm planks, and for my third night participating I’m doing side planks. Planks are great for your core, and seriously only take minutes a day. My time improved by 14 seconds just from night one to night two!
I’m also a little over one week into my new prescription for Zoloft. Taking it slow, only 25mg each day until next week, but I’m feeling pretty good. I’d say days 3-4 were the worst, feeling dizzy and just ‘not right,’ but it leveled out quickly after that and I can feel a difference even with the low dose. I snap a little less, and I recover from my frustrations much, much quicker. I’m excited to get to the full dose next week and really see how I feel. One major improvement has been my sleep. Before the Zoloft, I would wake up several times at night for no good reason, always getting interrupted sleep. Now, the Zoloft seems to be helping me just relax when I close my eyes, and stay that way for more than 90 minutes or 2 hours in a row. It feels nice.
A day late, but there’s my WBW check-in for this week! Keep up the good work everyone, and remember – little changes will lead to big results, and we can do this with each other’s support.

Yay for #plankaday. I actually feel a little sore on my sides from it.
